Description
About the artist

The work consists of the word PROSPECT in large fragments of jumbled steel letters, as a structural arrangement, approximately 2.5 metres high. The artist explained that the work explores ideas around language, text and the cumulative imaginary and how together they are symbolic of the many different individuals who form the community.

This public art work was commissioned by the City of Prospect at a total project cost of $109,000 and remains one of the largest investments in Public Art the Council has made. This includes concept development ($9,000); design, fabrication, lighting and installation of the work ($80,000); landscaping project management and other in-kind support ($20,000). Funding was sourced from Arts SA ($9,000 project seed funding and $10,000 commission funding support) and the City of Prospect ($70,000 cash and $20,000 in-kind support).
