About

Artist and florist, Sharyn Louise Ingham will introduce participants to the core skills of drawing in a relaxed and supportive environment. Students will be introduced to a range of materials and techniques for creating botanical drawings to accurately represent what they see whilst simultaneously enjoying nature and the mindfulness of drawing. The workshop will include quick sketches, line and tonal drawings, composition and drawing from a still life set up.

Students will be working with fresh and dried flowers and plants which are provided.

Please note this course is not suitable for those people who have any allergies to plants and flowers.

Materials required: 

Selection of pencils (eg 2B, 4B and 6B pencil), 

Willow and compressed charcoals and pen (optional) 

Cartridge paper (eg A4 /A3cartridge paper pad), 

White plastic eraser, sharpener, and notebook (optional).

Biography: Sharyn Louise Ingham is a South Australian artist who graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Art Honours in 2018 from The Adelaide Central School of Art and is a member of Collective Haunt Incorporated Norwood – an artist run initiative comprising studios and gallery. Ingham has been actively exhibiting work in group exhibitions and teaching Drawing classes in South Australia. In 2018 she was invited as guest artist for the annual Artist of the Ranges, an exhibition in Blinman SA. Her art practice is multi-disciplinary and explores our relationship with nature, with a focus on our interconnectedness with all life forms.
