Exhibition Opening - Co-viv

Co-viv is an exhibition of 15 paintings by Daniel Connell and short film made by Backfields Productions.

When in 2020 the then Prime Minister asked those on temporary visas to go home, this precipitated an enormous amount of anxiety. We realised that some Australians do not know that temporary visa holders are doctors and food growers, nurses and teachers, and supply most of the casual labour we are in such short supply of now. Temporary visa holders are essential.

This exhibition is a series of paintings of temporary visa holders who responded to a call out, each one was paid to tell their story. It talks about who we live with- coviv.
