Embedded Threads is a ceramic tile installation using impressions from decorative Chinese placemats. It explores heritage, identity, and cultural reconnection by subverting soft, delicate textiles into hard ceramics. This transformation refects tensions between tradition and change, expressing my experience as a third-generation Chinese Australian reclaiming a neglected cultural upbringing
